PURPOSE:To enable to steplessly shift the speed of an induction motor with a single phase power souce by generating a polyphase pulse altered in frequency in response to the signal for setting a rotating speed, thereby controlling the conduction of a switching element. CONSTITUTION:Respective terminals of stator coils W1, W2 of an induction motor IM are connected to one terminal of a single phase power source V through a neutral point C, and the other terminals are connected to the other terminal of the single phase power source V. The gate circuits G1, G2 are operated by 2- phase converter. The converter generates a polyphase pulse altered in frequency in response to the signal for setting the rotating speed, and the voltage having the same as the frequency of the polyphase pulse is applied from the single phase power source V to an induction motor IM. |
