A hydraulic safety brake valve is arranged in the feed lines of a double-acting, preloaded, hydraulic consuming unit. In the event of a pipe fracture when lowering the preload, uncontrolled lowering is prevented in that in the lifting line a throttle valve is arranged, which is controlled by a flow meter, which is arranged in the lowering line.
