As a device for supporting a ceramic investment-casting shell mould during firing, a pedestal element (6) is mounted on a cluster beforehand. This pedestal element (6) is composed of a heat-resistant material that can be released easily from the casting to be produced. There is preferably a plug-in connection between the cluster and the pedestal element (6). The cluster expediently has a heat-resistant pouring cup, while the pedestal element (6) is designed as a mandrel with an outer contour matched to the internal shape of the pouring cup.
