PURPOSE:To suppress the proliferation of microorganisms without damaging the human body, animals, and various products, by irradiating the microorganisms with light having wavelength within a specific range. CONSTITUTION:The microorganisms to be controlled are irradiated with light essentially containing the light having wave length from 520nm to the one corresponding to near ultraviolet ray, at an intensity of >=10muW/cm<2>, preferably >=100muW/cm<2>, especially >=1,000muW/cm<2>, for >=1min, preferably >=30min, especially >=1hr. |
