NEW MATERIAL:The ML-236B derivative of formulaI, the ML-236B derivative of formula II (R is H or lower alkyl), or their phramacologically permissible salt. USE:Remedy for hyperlipemia and preventive for arteriosclerosis. It inhibits the synthesis of cholesterole. PROCESS:The compound of formulaI, the compound of formula II or their pharmacologically permissible salt can be prepared by culturing microoragnisms belonging to Syncephalastrum genus, Absidia genus or Cunninghamella genus (e.g. Syncephalastrum racemosum IFO 4814) in a medium containing e.g. ML- 236B lactone, ML-236B carboxylic acid, their pharmacologically permissible salt, or ML-236B carboxylic acid alkyl ester. |
