摘要 <p>The laser may have carbon dioxide, nitrogen and helium as the lasing gas. The enclosure of the laser in which the gas (2) is contained is terminated by mirrors (4,5) and in addition is divided by one or more walls (8) lying in planes parallel to the direction of light propagation. The walls do not alter the direction of the propagation but undergo thermal exchange with the gas in the laser cooling it. This results in a stratification of the laser, in a single direction, or with two sets of divisions in two directions. The stratification walls are cooled by water circulation. The water is made to flow within channels which are machined in the bars forming the enclosure for the amplifier medium. These are symmetrically disposed w.r.t. the waveguides and pref. along the length of the bars.</p>
