The wide-angle street lamp comprises two side reflectors (4) which are arranged symmetrically to a vertical centre plane in which is disposed a high-pressure discharge lamp (1) with a rod-like burner (2), pref. a sodium vapour discharge lamp or a metal halide vapour lamp. Each reflector consists of two or more mirror zones (8) of constant concave cross-section which define between them in the horizontal projection an obtuse angle opening towards the other side reflector, and each mirror zone consists of several flat adjoining strip-like partial mirrors (8') of constant width. Pref. the partial mirrors have a width equal to 1/2-3 times the burner dia. (d) of the lamp, and every two adjoining partial mirrors in vertical cross-section form between them an angle of 171-177 deg. |
