In bolt cutters with two cutting jaws (1) movable towards one another and interchangeable blade strips (5) essentially triangular in cross-section, the blade strips (5) are supported with their base surface (6) remote from the cutting edge (5a) on a flat supporting surface (9) of the cutting jaw (1). A fitting screw (10) serves as a fastening means for each blade strip (5). The fitting screw (10) is inserted with its cylindrical shank (11) into a continuous fitting bore (13) provided near the outer end of the cutting jaw (1) and engages with its thread (12) in a tapped hole (14) in the blade strip (5). A fitting bore (15) extending parallel to the base surface (6) is provided at the inner end face (5b) of the blade strip (5). Engaging in the fitting bore (15) is a fitting pin (17) which is firmly inserted in an extension (16) of the cutting jaw (1) projecting in the direction of the cutting edge (5a). <IMAGE>
