An insulating bush 10 for supporting an overhead electrical conductor is made of a resiliently compressible insulating material and includes a waist 16, a passage 12 to accommodate the conductor and a longitudinal slit 14 giving access for the conductor into the passage. The waist 16 is forced into a bush support 32.2, secured to a support member 30.2. Bush supports for receiving a plurality of bushes are disclosed (Figures 6 and 7 not shown), as are other forms of bushes (Figures 3 to 4 not shown).
