The article of clothing is worn fitting close to the body and is provided with a marking or decoration which contains a liquid-crystal substance on a dark-coloured background. On changes in temperature the substance changes reversibly from transparent to opalescent and displays temperature-dependent colour-changing effects. The liquid-crystal substance is usually in encapsulated form.
