PURPOSE:To detect the feed speed of a member to be measured even if the member oscillates by bringing a detection roller fitted to an encoder and a tension roller into rolling contact with the member to be measured, and supporting both the rollers through a rocking mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A detection roller 4 and a tension roller are brought into rolling contact with a member 1 to be measured. The detection roller 4 and tension roller 18 are supported by a rocking mechanism 10, so they oscillate around supporting shafts 13 and 16. Therefore, the detection roller 4 and tension roller 18 come into invariably constant pressure contact with the member 1, so the detection roller rotates accurately without reference to disturbance. |
