PURPOSE:To prevent damage to sheets of paper in a paper feeder in connection with a copying machine by returning the sheet, which happenes to stay just in the device being pinched by the upper and lower separator rollers when the paper feed is stopped, to the paper feeder box by means of reverse rotation of the separator rollers to provide automatic removal of sheet. CONSTITUTION:Reverse rotation of the drive motor 5 actuated by a jam signal puts a worm wheel 8 in rotation in the direction of the dotted arrow to permit a sheet bunch placing plate 1 to sink with the aid of a wire 14 and a pulley 12 to rotate in the direction of the dotted arrow, and then the rotation of gear 45, idle gears 46, 47, gear 48, shaft 28 and one-way clutch 29 in directions as shown by respective arrows will rotate the lower separator roller 26 in the direction of the arrow, i.e. in the reverse direction to paper feeding. Consequently, the upper separator roller 25 rotates counterclockwise. Accordingly, the sheet S is returned to the paper feeder box 2 off from the rollers 25, 26. Thus, according to this constitution, a sheet in jam can be taken away automatically to assure prevention of damage to the sheet. |
