Conventional rotary mowers deposit the mown material on the ground in a broad swath. The invention describes a rotary mower (4) which is equipped, on two or more rotors located next to one another, with conveying members (2) of a height of at least 150 mm, in order to obtain a narrower swath (5a, 5b) (see Figure B). At least one deflector (8) is arranged approximately in the space above the conveying members (2). It prevents the mown material, which can briefly accumulate in front of the conveying members (2), from slipping away over these, but instead conveys it positively to the side. The conveying members (2) can be fitted to or removed from the rotors, as required. A swath plate (7) for bringing the swath (5a) together to form a narrower strip is mounted behind one rotor having a conveying member. <IMAGE>
