PREVENTING METHOD FOR DECARBURIZATION OF HIGH SI STEEL PRODUCTS

PURPOSE:To obtain hardly decarburized high Si steel products by heating a high Si steel billet contg. a prescribed percentage of Si to a prescribed temp. at a prescribed heating rate and hot rolling it. CONSTITUTION:A high Si steel billet contg. 1-3wt% Si is put in a heating furnace in which the inlet side is kept at a higher temp., and it is rapidly heated to 600-750 deg.C at 30-120 deg.C/min heating rate. The heated billet is then rolled to a steel wire. Thus, hardly decarburized high Si steel products are obtd. inexpensively.
