PURPOSE:To enhance the cooling effect of a valve, by embedding a heat pipe in the inside part of a valve head and a vlave steam of a poppet valve such as an exhaust valve along the axis shaftline of the valve. CONSTITUTION:A portion of the heat transmitted to the valve head 9a part of the valve 9 escapes into a cooling fluid through a valve seat, but the rest of the heat is transmitted to a heat-transmitting medium 20 in a hollow part 18a through the valve head 9a. The escaped heat is transmitted to the heat pipe 16 through convection of the medium 20 and through the stirring of the medium 20 by vertical movements of the valve 9. The heat thus transmitted is further transmitted to a heat-transmitting medium 19 contained in a hollow part 17, from which it is transmitted to a cylinder head through the convection and stirring of the medium 19. |
