PURPOSE:To obtain excellent dot alignment with a pulse motor as the driving source by controlling with a certain delay time given between the step instruction and dot print instruction during the printing operation in the going and/or returning directions. CONSTITUTION:When the electric power source is turned on, the carriage is run to the right end after home movement. Supposing that the right end stopping position is address N, even if the N-th stepping pulse is applied to the step motor, there is a delay time TD until the right end is detected. This time is measured. For correction during letter printing in the return direction, a timer value ND corresponding to the delay time TD is doubled, and the multiplication is divided by a time value corresponding to the step cycle TSP of a pulse motor, and the quotient PD and residue NA are sought. Then, for letter printing, after the pulse motor has advanced to an address to start letter printing, it further advances by the number of steps of PD and delayed by the timer value NA to issue the letter printing instruction. |
