PURPOSE:To elevate the accuracy of detecting the deflection stably for a long time by mounting a deflection eletrode unit on a carriage in such a manner as to make the surface thereof facing a recording paper equal in the space from the recording surface at least over the width of recording deflection of ink particles. CONSTITUTION:As a deflection electrode unit 6 is mounted on a carriage 18, it is free from the home position determining accuracy. Resulting improvement in the deflection detecting accuracy makes the distance between deflection electrodes 41 and 42 and the unit so short to eliminate disturbance such as wind and reduce ?the action of coulomb force thereby elevating the detection accuracy. In addition, the surface of the unit 6 facing the transferring surface is curved centered on the axis of a platen shaft 16 to make parts of the surface equal in the space from the transferring surface thereby reducing dot deviation with a uniform distribution of air current in the space. In addition, the unit 6 intercepts ink mist caused in the perimeter of the transferring surface to reduce the pollution of the deflection electrodes 41 and 42. |
