PURPOSE:To eliminate connection work between cells and to sequre liquid tightness by inserting under pressure assembled elements consisting of the same number of positive and negative plates to a container which provides conductivity to partitions. CONSTITUTION:The same number of positive and negative plates 5 and 6 are stacked through separators 7. Assembled elements 3 and 3' are obtained after forming straps 8. The assembled element 3' for the end cell is provided with a terminal cell post 9, but the assembled element 3 for an intermidiate cell is not provided with a member equvalent to a cell post. The assembled elements 3 and 3' are inserted into each cell 4 of a container 1 so that the positive plate 5 may be placed on the side of a partition 2 consisting of acid-resisting and conductive plastic or acid-resisting metal while the positive plate 6 may be placed on the other side of the partition 2. Both the positive and negative plates 5 and 6 are pressure-welded to the ends of the partition 2, allowing automatic connection between cells. A cover 11 is installed to the container 1 according to the routine practice. A battery is then obtained. |
