PURPOSE:To enhance resolution of a recorded image, by using a recording electrode made of magnetic material, providing a magnet near the electrode, and bringing a liquid developer dispersing toner particles containing a magnetic component, into contact with the electrode and a recording material. CONSTITUTION:Space between groove 9 and 10 for introducing a liquid developer is divided with a partition wall 13 formed together with a recess material in one body, a large number of recording electrodes 3 made of thin and long ferromagnetic materials penetrate the wall 13 vertically, corresponding to an individual image element. A magnet 16 is adjacent to the lower parts of the electrodes. Recording voltage is applied to an opposite electrode 4 and the electrodes 3 in accordance with image signals from a recording power supply 6. A concentration of toner particles 15 in the liquid developer increases extremely along magnetic force lines extending from the electrodes 3 to the electrode 4, and an amount of particles attaching to a recording material 5 per unit time increases, permitting a sufficient recording density to be obtained even when recording speed is raised. |
