PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of grain-refining a dental Au alloy by using a specified amount of easily available Zr as an additive in place of Re or the like. CONSTITUTION:A dental Au alloy is grain-refined by adding 0.05-0.5wt% of Zr. In case of an aging alloy for a bridge, etc. having the compositions shown by the diagram, sample B contg. Ag 9% and Zr 1% is remarkably grain-refined as compared to sample A contg. Ag 10% and Zr 0%. Addition or Zr 1%, however, results in inferior fluidity, so Zr is added in the range of 0.05-0.5%. As a result, a grain- refined dental alloy having superior fluidity, oxidation resistance and mechanical properties is obtd. |
