PURPOSE:To improve capacity recovery performance after overdischarge by using zinc powder, whereon a metal such as gold, silver, copper, lead and indium, which can be amalgamated with mercury, is deposited by evaporation, for a cathode agent after being amalgamated. CONSTITUTION:Indium is made to deposit by evaporation on the surface of zinc powder, which is then amalgamated. A cathode can 1 is filled up with a cathode agent 3, which is a mixture of said zinc powder and sodium polyacrylate. A cell obtained by fitting said cathode can 1 into an anode can 4 possesses large charging capacity as compared with the former one even after overdischarge and also excellent capacity recovery performance. |
