PURPOSE:To obtain a hot wire type arc welding device by utilization of commercial electric power sources by so constituting the device that an electric power source for wire heating is interruped upon detection of the arc generated between the wire and base metals and the power source is turned on upon detection of the short circuiting between these again. CONSTITUTION:A hot wire type arc welding device is constituted of a non-consumable electrode 1 facing base materials 3, an electric power source 2 for heating of the wire 5 in order to generate and maintain an arc 4 between the materials 3 and the electrode 1, a wire reel 11 which supplies the wire 5 to the molten pool 8 produced by the arc 4, and a power feed tip 7 which evolves resistance heat in the wire 5. Further, a detector 17 which detects the generation and short circuiting of the arc 5 between the wire 5 and the materials 3 and a switching control part 17S which interrupts the wire heating current upon detection of the generation of the arc 5 with the detector 17 and supplies the wire heating current upon detection of the short circuiting are provided thereto. |
