PURPOSE:To clearly distinct a squelch-on mode from a power supply off mode, by providing a synthetic composite video signal to a TV receiver when the squelch-on mode is discriminated. CONSTITUTION:When a TV receiver 22 and a player are on/off-controlled, a squelch signal outputted from a video signal processing circuit 4 is controlled under the squelch-on mode, while the player is turned on and a prescribed time is elapsed or while a pickup means 3 is detached from a disc 2. A switch 17 is selected to a video signal synthesizing circuit 16 and an output of a circuit 16 is displayed on the screen of the receiver 22. Thus, the squelch-on mode can clearly be distincted from the power supply off mode of the TV receiver. |
