A belly for stringed instruments made of wood, and a method for working the same are described. The belly has a large number of sound holes which are arranged on a predetermined region of the belly, which to a great extent replaces the conventional sound hole section. The sound holes are formed by fine grains being emitted onto the surface of the predetermined region of the belly by a high-pressure air nozzle. The sound holes consequently form on the predetermined region of the belly a pattern similar to cut-through work, the growth rings remaining unworked.
|
