PURPOSE:To make the quality appreciation accurate, by providing plural sets of two patterns, where white and black repeating periods are different from each other, to increase the number of measuring points and eliminating the appreciation error in a modulation transfer function MTF value and making the measurement of a line spreading function LSF possible. CONSTITUTION:Plural sets of two patterns where white and black repeating periods are different from each other are provided on a sheet of paper. The first pattern consists of an all black pattern 30 and a white and black striped pattern 31 which has one period of 2DELTA and is connected to the pattern 30, and the second pattern consists of a pattern, where one or several black lines 33 having width DELTA exist in an all white pattern 32, and a pattern which is connected to this pattern and has one or several white lines 35 having width DELTA in an all black pattern 34. Thus, the number of measuring points is increased, and an amplitude h0 of the signal for a white and black pich (f)=0 and an amplitude (h) for (f)=1/(2DELTA) are measured simultaneously by the first pattern to eliminate the appreciation error due to a modulation transferring function MTF value, and a line spreading function LSF is measured by the second pattern, thus making the appreciation of the picture quality accurate. |
