<p>The valve body (10) is bored out to take the valve itself held in by a cap (22). The cap is initially screwed into the body with a sealing ring (47) until the flat surfaces (34,35) are in contact. Tightening continues, deforming the flange (39) of the body until the shoulder of the cap is in contact with the body. After pressure testing, the cap is unscrewed and the joint ring (47) removed. The assembly is repeated and a seal weld (44) made between the two flanges (33,36). The valve can be dismantled by machining away the seal weld and a new weld made on reassembly. One of the seal flanges has a U-section, one leg of which is deformed and the other leg is welded to it.</p> |
