PURPOSE:To improve the standing-after-overdischarge-performance, the self- discharge performance, and the shortened life of a battery by containing an alkali metal ion in an electrolyte, and using a lead alloy containing less than 0.09wt% Ca, and 1.0-15wt% Sn in a grid current collector. CONSTITUTION:If a lead acid battery is allowed to stand for a long time or allowed to stand after overdischarge, charging is made impossible by self discharge, and the life is shortend. To prevent this problem, a lead alloy containing less than 0.09wt% Ca and 1.0-15wt% Sn is used as a grid alloy, and an alkali metal ion is contained in an electrode. Thereby, the self-discharge is decreased, the standingafter-overdischarge-performance is improved, and the life is lengthened. |
