PURPOSE:To improve the lowering of the compressibility of the fender by a structure wherein a Y-shape reinforcement facing to a shock receiving part is provided within a hollow chamber integrally with the fender having said hollow chamber, which consists of the shock receiving part, shock supporting parts and a base part. CONSTITUTION:The fender consists of the shock receiving part (a), the shock supporting parts b and the base part c and all these parts encircle the hollow chamber d, within which the Y-shape or trifurcate reinforcement e facing to the shock receiving part (a) is integrally provided with the parts (a), b and c. In addition, a reinforcement f such as reinforcing steel or the like is imbedded in the base part c. Owing to the structure as described above, the lowering of the compressibility of the fender is remarkedly improved under the condition that the fender is applied by the oblique force (or under the oblique compression), not to mention under the condition that the fender is applied by the force normal to the fender, when the strake of a vessel contacts to a quay. |
