Installation for concentrating a liquid product, such as a dairy product, a chemical product or an industrial effluent for example, comprising at least two evaporators (I, II) disposed in series on the product, each having a single stage (II) or multiple stages (I) and each of the stages (1, 2, 3) comprising a heating vapor circuit (1a, 2a, 3a) and a circuit for vapor created by evaporation (4, 7; 5, 8; 6, 9), two at least of these evaporators (I, II) comprising mechanical vapor compression and thus each comprising in mechanical vapor compressor (10, 11), characterized in that the evaporators are connected in a multiple stage evaporator configuration.
