PURPOSE:To device height or depth of an object, by using pictures photographed from different angles, deriving their mutual correlation and a value of power, and deriving a peak of correlation as to only the picture whose power value exceeds a specific value of a standard deviation. CONSTITUTION:When photographing the same geographical point 7 on the earth 8 from satellites 1, 2 loaded with two cameras, density distortion and geometrical distortion of cameras 3-6 are corrected, the projection is converted, and after that, in accordance with the defining expression, both the correlation calculation and the power calculation are executed simultaneously, a peak of correlation is derived as to only a value of power exceedig 10% of a standard deviation, shift of its position coordinates is detected, is set as a parallax, and height of a ground object is calculated. Also, in case when the height has not been derived due to the fact that the power has been limited, extrapolation is executed by interpolating by 4-point interpolation and secondary function approximation from an adjacent point. Accordingly, divergence of a correlation function value in a place whose contrast is low is reduced, and an error is made small. |
