Known devices which are used as shavers for removing and shortening hair are preferably composed of a semicircular perforated sheet, beneath which a cutting head can reciprocate in the longitudinal plane of the perforated sheet. A design of this type provides a relatively large active cutting surface, such as is desirable for the removal of bristles from the chin. A razor of this type cannot, however, be used for shaving hair-growing regions which are not easily accessible. The invention is intended to remedy this and is characterised in that the surface of the perforated sheet forms a complete circle and an essentially cylindrical hollow body with a small diameter, in which there rotates a rotor which is equipped with blade-carrying rails. It is possible in this fashion to shave, without difficulty, hair-growing regions of the human body which are not easily accessible, in particular, without unwieldy cutting surfaces impeding such a process.
