The patent application describes firring supports for ventilated curtain wall surfacings which are fixed to the building wall by means of plastic connectors. The feet (29), to be fixed to the building wall, of the supports (20), which may be designed either as a fixed point or as a sliding support, have their bearing surfaces (30) designed in such a way that the supports (20) may be aligned horizontally to even out vertical unevennesses in the wall and may be moved along the horizontal in order generally speaking to direct the pressure and tensile forces transferred from the support (20) coaxially into the connectors. In one version the support (20) and support foot (29) are joined together by a hinge (25, 28), which may be separable, in such a way that the support (20) swivels in the horizontal direction around the mid-point of the connector head (32), so that in the event of insufficient displaceability of the support foot (29), and in the case of offset or oblique connector holes, oblique tensile and pressure forces can be kept away from the actual connector. <IMAGE>
