摘要 <p>Tube is produced by winding single layer fibre reinforced composite metal panels, so that the fibres are at no more than 15 deg. to the axis. They are placed between cylindrical metal moulds, sealed, evacuated, cured under pressure, cooled and the mould removed. The inner mould is a deformable membrane, coated with a diffusion barrier, e.g. graphite with a coefft. of thermal expansion at least 18.10 power minus 6 cm/cm deg.C. The outer has a coefft. of no more than 12.10 power minus 6 cm/cm deg.C. Curing between 1 and 50 atmos. pressure is within the pasty range of the metal matrix, formed by the combination during curing of a support foil and binder as e.g. Al. alloy, with a range of 40-80 deg.C. Deformable membrane inner mould is easy to remove. The outer mould may be reused, and the process can be used with a metallic matrix reinforced with boron fibres coated with boron carbide.</p>
