For the direct-current welding of gratings, at least one semiconductor rectifier (16), in a welding machine fed with alternating current, is arranged between a terminal of the secondary conductor (12) of a welding transformer and one of two busbars (1, 2) for the conduction of current to the welding electrodes (8). The second terminal of the secondary conductor is directly connected to the second busbar (1). The disc-shaped rectifiers (16) bear with one disc side directly on the busbar (2) and are pressed against the latter by pressure springs (18). The busbar is thus used as a carrier for the rectifiers, which results in lower power losses. <IMAGE>
