The wad consists of a closure piston (10), a cylindrical container (11) and a damping mechanism (12), which are moulded in a single polyethylene piece. The skirt (14) of the closure piston (10) has a circular groove (15) made in its external surface, which gives it a certain flexibility. This flexibility improves the seal of the closure piston (10), and thus prevents any attack on the container (11) by the combustion gases. <IMAGE>
