The invention is aimed at designing a wheelchair which can be produced economically and is capable, without any additional fittings, of driving on uneven ground, over steps and into a transporter without any danger to the driver's security. The two-wheeled wheelchair comprises two wheels fitted to the sides of the seat. Forward and backward movement takes place as a function of the weight and of the installation and shiftability of the total weight under the axletree. If required, the height of the seat can be adjusted, and this depends on the weight installed under the axletree. Special spokes permit better sight and contact to the outside. For moving over large steps or into a transporter an artificial step is produced by unfoldable supports. <IMAGE>
