PURPOSE:To enable one motor to drive a magnetic recording medium and also to move a magnetic head, by coupling a rotating driving body for moving a head holding body with the motor for driving the magnetic recording medium through a clutch. CONSTITUTION:The rotation of a motor 2 is transmitted to a medium holder 5 to rotate a magnetic recording medium 9, and also transmitted to an eccentric cam 25 through a clutch 19 consisting of a coupling gear 17 and a coupling pulley 18 to allow a head holding body 11 to move in a radius direction of the medium 9 together with a magnetic head 10. In this case, the motion of each track of the medium 9 where the magnetic head 10 crosses is made coincident with the array pitch of contacts 32 and a desired contact 32 is brought into contact with a contact 31 to power down a solenoid 23, turning off the clutch 19. Consequently, the movement of the head holding body 11 is stopped to attain random access. |
