PURPOSE:To improve the dispersibility of magnetic flux in a magnetic layer, and to improve a squareness rate and an orientation rate, by coating a nonmagnetic base with a magnetic paint which contains silicone oil which having an oleic acid in a molecule, and thus forming a magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:On the basis of 100pts.wt. ferromagnetic metallic powder, 0.05- 1wt% silicone oil having an oleic acid in a molecule is added as a dispersant. This is dispersed uniformly in a polyurethane resin solution to obtain a magnetic paint, with which a polyester film is coated to obtain a magnetic recording film. Using this dispersant improves the squareness rate and orientation rate of the magnetic layer and the magnetic tape has superior surface smoothness to a magnetic tape which uses no silicone oil. |
