PURPOSE:To obtain a heat-sensitive recording material capable of being fixed and also of giving multiple coloration, by adding one or more of diazo oxide compounds to a heat-sensitive color forming layer containing as main components a diazo compound and a coupling agent. CONSTITUTION:A heat-sensitive color forming layer containing a diazo compound of formulasI, II, or III and a coupling agent, e.g., phenol, resorcinol, or beta-naphthol, is formed on a base, e.g., paper. Here, to the heat-sensitive color forming layer, one or more of diazo oxide compounds of formulas IV, V, or VI are added besides the diazo compound. Thus, a heat-sensitive recording material capable of being fixed and also of giving a multiple coloration can be obtained. To obtain a multi-colored recording, part of the recording paper is subjected to semi-exposure of light and then to a hot printing. The portion subjected to semi-exposure of light shows, e.g., a red color, while an unexposed portion shows a blue color, thus giving a separated colored image. |
