PURPOSE:To provide a printer which has a stable performance and is inexpensive, by a method wherein, in a printer employing a type wheel, the type wheel is turned and driven and a carriage is driven by a clutch means and by a single motor. CONSTITUTION:In printing, a servo-motor 106 is rotated by means of a control signal from a control part, a type is selected by rotation of a type wheel 107 and simultaneously a solenoid 18 actuates to move upward a ribbon 113, and then, a solenoid 112 actuates a hammer 111. After a printing is completed, a solenoid 141 for spacing actuates to disengage a latchet 140 from a latchet wheel 129, which results in rotating a planetary carrier 125 through an energizing force of a spring 138. A gear part 125a engages a rack 15, and thereby a carriage 12 moves by a full distance for a letter to the right. With a return key depressed, a clutch 108 actuates, and a solenoid 142 is energized to engage a claw 137 with an inner teeth gear 127. Then, the rotation of the servo-motor 106 causes the planetary carrier 125 to turn counterclockwise, and moving of the carriage 12 to the left. |
