PURPOSE:To stop an ineffective recording area at a position suitable for its intensity, shape, etc., by setting the stopping position of a recording body, which is in readiness for recording, to the position where the ineffective recording area is made close to a visualized body removing stage. CONSTITUTION:When the stopping position of a recording body 1 during the interruption of electric power supply is as shown by (a), the ineffective recording area DELTA of the recording body 1 is under a charger 3 and becomes a recording area, where evil influence is exerted. When a control power source 18 is turned on, a CPU starts operating to clear the contents of an RAM, and then sets the input and output system of each input and output port I/O to decide on a stack pointer SP. Then, a heater F/F is set, the heater of a fixing device is turned on, and a motor and a discharger are turned on. As a motor turns, a timing pulse counter counts up by the interruption of a timing pulse TP and when the counted value reaches a set number N, the motor and discharger are turned off, and the heater F/F is reset. When the motor stops, the recording body 1 is at a position (b) and a cleaning position is present between the recording area DELTA and the front end part Z of an image. |
