PURPOSE:To reduce wow and flutter of a reproducing sound due to warp of a record disk, by constituting so that a stratight line connecting a turning fulcrum of a tone arm and the tip of a cartridge stylus is in the direction of gravity in a performance state of a record. CONSTITUTION:This tone arm for a vertical record player has a cartridge 1 on its tip part, holds an arm body 4 formed by a pipe material, etc. on a rack 3 through a bearing 2 freely turnably in the vertical direction where the center of the bearing 2 becomes a turning fulcrum 0, and proper stylus pressure is obtained by a weight 5. In case of a performance state of a record, a straight line connecting the turning fulcrum 0 of the arm body 4, that is, the center of the bearing 2, and the tip of a cartridge stylus 6 coincides with the gravity direction W, therefore, even if there is warp on a record disk, a relative speed of the stylus tip 6 and a sound groove is scarcely varied, and wow and flutter of a reproducing sound are scarcely generated. |
