The hydraulic control device has a flow-control valve (16), a pilot-control valve (39, 42) connected downstream of the flow-control valve (16), an accumulator (33), and a brake valve (50). The brake valve is actuated by means of a control member (56), a control flow diverted from the flow-control valve being interrupted if the accumulator is not charged, whereupon the flow controller assumes such a position that the accumulator is charged. This therefore takes place only during a braking action. This ensures that this action is limited in time by the flow-control valve, if it is firmly choked, as a result of which overheating of the pressure medium is prevented. <IMAGE>
