The invention relates to a multiple sheet control device for sheet-processing machines, having a cylinder (2) arranged rotatably below the sheet (1) to be conveyed or a stream of sheets to be conveyed, having a scanning roller (3) which is arranged rotatably above the sheet (1) or stream of sheets and whose axis of rotation can be moved away from the sheet plane counter to a spring force, it being possible during this movement for the cylindrical outer surface of the scanning roller (3) to be brought into contact with the concentric periphery of a rotatably mounted swivel part (8). In this case, the swivel part (8) can be swivelled counter to a spring force on a swivel path between a basic position and an end position. Furthermore, the device has a detecting device which can be actuated by the swivel part (8). In order to provide a multiple sheet control device of this type which, with a simple construction, can quickly be adjusted into its optimum operating position, the detecting device can be actuated during the swivelling of the swivel part (8) from its basic position before it reaches the end position. <IMAGE>
