Medical care apparatus comprising a handpiece (3; 103) connected by a conduit (15; 115) to a source of liquid, a pump connected to said liquid conduit for projecting said liquid in the form of a heterogeneous jet at a frequency in the range of 1,000 to 4,000 pulses per minute, interchangeable spray nozzles adapted to be mounted to said handpiece (3; 103) for the treatment of teeth and gums, characterized by the fact that a nebulising nozzle (8; 108) adapted to be mounted likewise to said handpiece (3; 103) is also provided for producing a mist for skin cares and that the head of said nebulising nozzle (8; 108) consists of an external sleeve (9; 109) forming a chamber (10; 110) for said liquid, said liquid supply conduit (15; 115) opening into said chamber (10; 110), of a cylindrical socket (17; 117) fitting in said external sleeve (9; 109) and comprising at its ends projecting from said external sleeve (9; 109) a transverse partition (18; 118) having a plurality and preferably three grooves (19) formed in its inner surface, said grooves extending tangentially to the funnelshaped portion of a tapered central orifice (20; 120) opening through a small cylindrical hole (21; 121) terminating at the outer face of said transverse partition (18; 118), and finally of a cylindrical pin (22; 122) bearing with one end against the inner face of said transverse partition (18; 118) of said socket (17; 117) and with the opposite end against a core of said cylindrical socket (10; 110) and provided on its outer peripheral surface with axial ribs (24), said cylindrical pin (22; 122) fitting in said cylindrical socket (17; 117) in such a way that the jet of pulsated liquid fed through said conduit (15; 115) penetrates into said liquid chamber (10; 110), is divided into a plurality of jets between said axial ribs (24) of said cylindrical pin (22; 122) and caused to swirl by said grooves (19) tangent to said central tapered orifice (20; 120) of said cylindrical socket (17; 117) so as to be converted into a mist discharged through said small cylindrical hole (21; 121) of said transverse partition (18; 118).</p> |
