PURPOSE:To provide a water purifier capable of surely performing backwash of a membrane filtration part in order to prolong usable service life without making the water purifier to large size. CONSTITUTION:Two pieces of water purification cartridges 2 are equipped with both an activated carbon treatment part 5 for treating introduced raw water and a membrane filtration part 6 for filtrating the treated water supplied from the activated carbon treatment part 5 through a membrane. The respective water purification cartridges 2 are provided with both an inlet 14 for supplying washing water for backwash of the membrane and an outlet 8 for discharging waste washing water from a flow path 7 between the activated carbon treatment part 5 and the membrane filtration part 6. The water purifier is constituted so that changeover operation of a water purification state for purifying raw water by two pieces of water purification cartridges, a first backwash state and a second backwash state respectively described below is made free. In the first backwash state, raw water is purified by one side of water purification cartridge 2 and the membrane of the other side of the cartridge 2 is back-washed by this purified water. In the second backwash state, raw water is purified by the other side of cartridge 2 and the membrane of one side of cartridge 2 is back-washed by this purified water. |
