<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an economical contact type water treating device with which an optional adjustment is possible for the contact area between a contact plate and treating water by floating and sinking of a structure member, by floating the structure member which is formed by laminating numbers of contact plates for water treatment and has <=1 specific gravity in a water treating reservoir and putting and taking the water into and out of the structure member. CONSTITUTION:An upper water tank 4 and a lower hollow tank 6 are attached at the upper and lower parts respectively of a structure member 2 which is formed by laminating numbers of water treating contact plates 1 and has <=1 specific gravity. The tank 6 is first filled with water. Then this device is floated in a water treating reservoir 3, and the specific gravity of the whole device is controlled so as to obtain an agreement between the center of the plate 1 and the water surface 5. Then the water to be treated is poured into the tank 4, and the tank 4 is put down into the water. Then the water to be treated in the tank 4 is discharged into the reservoir 3. At the same time, the water in the tank 6 is also discharged into the reservoir 3, and at the same time, the air is sucked into the tank 6. After this, the above-mentioned operations are carried out successively to move up and down alternately the whole device, and at the same time, the water is discharged from the tank 4 like a shower to discharge the air within the tank 6 in the form of the foams. Thus the water treating capacity is enhanced, and the contact area between the plate 1 and the water to be treated is adjusted optionally.</p> |
