The mechanically lockable drive optionally has a manual drive (20) and/or a motor drive (2) as well as a housing (1). Provided in the housing is a screw spindle (4) having a travelling nut (5) which runs thereon and drives a switching shaft (7) via a fork lever (6). The screw spindle (4) is connected via a drive (3) and an auxiliary shaft (8) as well as an angled drive (9, 10) to a coupling part (110) (which can rotate) of a coupling (clutch) (11) which can be released against spring force (12). The coupling part (110) which can rotate engages with a coupling part (111), which is mounted on the housing (1) such that it cannot rotate, and in consequence locks the screw spindle (4). The coupling (11) and hence the lock can be released, depending on the design, by a magnet (13) or using a manual lever (132), it also being possible to operate auxiliary contacts (14) in order to operate electrical devices. In consequence, economical positive locking of a switch drive is possible. <IMAGE>
