Newly moulded large-format bricks, which have been cut by means of a multi-wire cutter from a clot which has been cut from an extruded column, and leave the said cutter initially in the form of an unbroken row of newly moulded bricks, are to be supplied in such a way that the individual newly moulded bricks can be taken hold of on their cut surfaces by a gripping device. The invention achieves this object, in that the newly moulded bricks, which are conveyed on individual conveying devices, which each have the width of one newly moulded brick and adjoin the cutter, are supplied in two rows, standing one behind the other in the conveying direction, in such a way that each row is composed of a periodic sequence, e.g. 1-3-5, 2-4-6, of individual newly moulded bricks. The newly moulded bricks taken hold of by their cut edges are transferred to supporting bases and can also be rotated during transfer through 90 DEG about their vertical axes.
