Photocopier by means of which it is possible in conjunction with inexpensive means to produce sharp multiple copies of the original in rapid succession by employing optical elements, preferably a displaceable graded-index fibre-optic system or the like to produce a latent electrostatic image of the original on an endless filter belt. Located opposite this belt in a plane-parallel fashion in a transfer zone is a further endless belt made from an insulating material and onto which the latent electrostatic image of the filter belt can be transferred repeatedly with the aid of a relatively weak corona. After respective development of the latent electrostatic image, a powder image of the original is transferred from the belt made of insulating material onto a copying paper which is guided past.
